+8 characters · up to 20 players · same solution.
This is an expansion for Murder at the Midnight Gala, our 1920s New Year’s Eve murder mystery party game. You need the base game to play. It adds eight new suspects so your party can grow from 12 to 20 guests, and it never changes the answer: your sealed reveal still reads exactly the same.
THE NEW GUESTS
- The Photographer · The Socialite · The Stockbroker · The Private Eye
- The Magician · The Poet · The Alderman · The Tennis Champion
Each arrives with a motive, secrets worth protecting, “say this” lines for every round, and a timed alibi card for Round 3. Two of them hold evidence that backs up the solution, which rewards the sharpest sleuths.
WHAT’S INSIDE
- How to add the expansion: casting chart from 13 to 20 players, what changes in each round, and a fillable casting worksheet
- Cast of characters page to share with guests
- 8 character booklets: a private first page (who you are, secrets, goals, what you know, costume ideas) and a fold-out round page
- 8 clue cards (the new guests’ Round 3 alibis)
- 8 name tags with fillable names
- Costume ideas for every new character; anyone can play any role
- Sealed reveal addendum: one line to clear each new guest after the main reveal
- 16 invitations: 8 printable 5 × 7 and 8 phone-size to send by text, fillable once for all
RENAME ANYONE
Clues refer to characters by title, so names are free to change. Type a new name once and it updates on the booklet, name tag and cast list.
SIZES AND FORMATS
- 5 PDF files: the expansion in US Letter and A4 (26 pages each), the sealed addendum in US Letter and A4, and the invitations (5 × 7 print + phone)
- Fillable in the free Adobe Acrobat Reader
- Clean and PG-13 at most, like the base game: no gore, no adult content
